Jack Petchey Award

The Jack Petchey Foundation
About The Awards
The Jack Petchey Foundation was established by the successful East London entrepreneur, Jack Petchey, in 1999.
It is a young, progressive grant making Trust based in Ilford Essex and is now among the largest and most influential London charitable foundations.
It focuses on projects and programmes that benefit 11-25 year olds.
The main area of operation is the London boroughs and Essex, where it currently operates in 1600 secondary schools and youth clubs.
There are smaller programmes elsewhere.
Every three months one of our playing members will be selected to receive the Jack Petchey Achievement Award.

The winner will be given a cheque for three hundred pounds to present to FC Kensington. The winner can decide what the money is spent on, maybe training tops for the team, end of season event, training equipment etc. (not pitch or referee fees and other general running costs).

The winner will receive a framed Certificate of Achievement and a medal from the Foundation in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the Club.  The winner will also be invited to attend on of the Awards events held in London.

How Will The Winners Be Chosen?
Jack Petchey was born in July 1925 in the East End of London, England. From a background with very few advantages he became a prominent businessman and property developer.Candid003.JPG

In 1945 at the end of the Second World War Jack Petchey left the Navy and became a clerk.
He was told by the personnel officer of his firm: " You'll never make a businessman".
However, this discouraging remark did not prevent him from becoming one of the most successful entrepreneurs in Britain!
June 2004
Jack received his OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire), in the Queen's Birthday Honours for Services to Young People in East London and Essex through The Jack Petchey Foundation.
Although many charitable projects have been supported in recent years by Jack Petchey, a Charitable Foundation was formed in 1999 to support projects in East London and West Essex. This has now expandied into the whole of London and Essex.

We are looking for a Club member who has done something outstanding for his team or the Club.  This might not be the teams biggest goalscorer or best player. It could be someone who is at every training session and match. Volunteered to help coaches, Come up with a good idea to improve the Club or has shown great leadership or encouragement.
Every three months the coaches and managers will get together and decide who will win the award. Only one award will be made to each team in any award cycle.
If you would like to nominate someone for an award either talk to your coach or email Gary.  Nominations will be accepted from players parents or coaches
